Family Farm Day
Brett (farmer B) and I (Anne, farmer A) have been married since 2017. We started looking for our end-game piece of dirt in early 2018. Both of us have regular jobs – he’s a car guy and has been his whole career, and I am an entrepreneur and business software consultant.
We’ve looked all over the country, from Wyoming to Utah, to Northern Idaho to Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama and all over Georgia. We almost bought a piece of land, also with a mountain on it in Sparta TN.
In the end we chose Middle Georgia as our spot. The photo above is on the farm the day we found it. It’s without a doubt the prettiest piece of property we have seen. It checked all our boxes – pasture, woods, pond, and mountains. Who knew we could get that in Georgia?
Here’s our fam. These are our seven kids – the oldest was born in 1993 and the youngest in 2006. They join us when they can, although almost all are now holding down jobs and adulting.
What are we going to do with it? Cattle. Grass-finished Belted Galloway beef cattle, bees, vegetables and fruit – the finest ingredients and the best flavor locally grown and sourced.
